2027 Lunar New Year Gala: Call for Performers and Hosts

Open call: opens Sep 25, 2026, closes Nov 15, 2026

First-round results: Nov 22, 2026; final selection of acts and hosts: Dec 20, 2026

In-person audition: Dec 5 - 6, 2026, Bayside Performing Arts Center (tentative)

Acts (except comedy skits) and hosts must attend the in-person audition to be selected. Comedy skits have a separate review in January 2027. Time and place to be announced.

Gala: technical rehearsal on the evening of Feb 12, 2027; full-day rehearsal and show on Feb 13, 2027, San Jose Center for the Performing Arts (SJCPA)

About ZaiGeZaiGu

ZaiGeZaiGu (载歌在谷) is a community of volunteers, most of them Chinese professionals in Silicon Valley tech. We use arts and cultural events to bring joy, friendship and growth to everyone who takes part.

ZaiGeZaiGu started in 2015 as the Lunar New Year Gala inside Google. In 2017 it became an independent nonprofit community open to all of Silicon Valley and the San Francisco Bay Area.

Lunar New Year Gala

Our gala began as the Google Lunar New Year Gala in 2015 and is now open to the whole Bay Area. More than 200 volunteers and performers, most of them from Bay Area tech companies, spend half a year to prepare it. It is the largest Lunar New Year Gala in the Bay Area, with the biggest audience and a true Silicon Valley character.

Singer Contest

Building on past success, the ZaiGeZaiGu Singer Contest has grown with a brand-new plan. We bring you a high-quality annual contest for Chinese-language singers.

Garden Party

Spring couplets, paper cutting, calligraphy, sugar painting, Hanfu, poetry and a small stage: a Garden Party full of Chinese tradition for the Bay Area Chinese community. Many booths are free. The Garden Party is great for families and lets children experience Chinese culture.

A dream incubator where music lovers share, create and grow together. We care about the music and also about the connections behind it. Songwriters and performers can both find like-minded partners here. We regularly host medium and large live concerts that are open to the public. With professional planning and production, we give music lovers a stage to shine, and we give audiences themed shows built on passion.
